This two-day practical course provides you with clear assessment structures and clear guidelines on rehab pathways to help you be efficient and competent. You will understanding how to conduct a narrative interview to identify risk factors and ongoing stressors maintaining nociplastic pain, with targeted physical tests to confirm your diagnosis. You will learn tips on assessing individual coping styles so you can individually tailor your rehab. You will also learn the latest ways to objectively measure sensory acuity for tailoring your sensorimotor rehab.
This course will help you navigate through rehabilitation using a structured approach - How to give understanding of what nociplastic pain is and how to reduce central sensitisation through lifestyle change advice, ways to reduce sensory overwhelm and self-regulate. Then the refining sensorimotor function stage of rehab incorporates strategies using neurodevelopmental pathways to improve efficiency of the central nervous system, especially where the client has neurodivergent co-morbidities. Graded loading if tissues for re-conditioning is next. You will learn how graded exposure and trauma-informed care are critical for effective engagement and progress.

The course focusses on sensory HYPER-sensitivity predominantly, including fibromyalgia and ‘physiological anxiety’. Part 2 focusses more on sensory HYPO-sensitivity, CRPS and aspects of Functional Neurological Disorder.
